I bought this on the recommendation of a friend (who I think would give this 5 stars). We were looking for something to bring diapers to/from daycare, and this is what she uses. I especially liked the idea of not having to wash a wetbag every few days, so we went for it and ordered the nappy bucket. The size is about as I expected from the second photo, if not a little bit bigger. There were so many reviews about it being small, so I actually expected it to be smaller... It IS definitely small compared to most regular diaper pails but I think you could easily fit a day's worth of cloth diapers in here. We use BumGenius 4.0s for daycare and Flips at home. Out of curiosity I just filled it up with clean Flip inserts (mix of the cotton and stay dry, no covers) and I fit 15. Realistically you'd have some covers so the reviewer who said 12 was probably about right. I haven't tried with the 4.0s but I would estimate it would fit 7 or 8. So, depending on what kind of diapers you use, I think it would be adequate if you're washing every day, or maybe every other if you have an older baby going through fewer diapers. As others have mentioned, the lid doesn't really "lock" very well. Basically, when the handle is flipped to one side you can't take the lid off. But any older kid could easily flip the handle over - it turns very easily. (so, it might be safe from a baby but not at a daycare with kids of all ages). If that's your plan, might want to see where they (or you) will keep the bucket and if the locking lid is an important feature or not.Overall, I think it's a great little bucket, especially if you're looking for something compact, easy to carry, and are going to wash more frequently. But despite my 4-star review, I am returning it. It was much, much bigger than I wanted just to bring to/from daycare (where she only goes through about 3 diapers). I ordered and just started using a medium Bummis Fabulous Wetbag because they dry faster than the Planet Wise bags we already had.We shifted to reusable pads as all the disposables - even organic brands - were causing irritation. (Absolutely no irritation with the reusable pads by the way, so check it out if you're irritated by disposable pads), We most like Hesta This is a really convenient, easy to use diaper pail for cloth diapers, as well as training pants, etc. (We have 1 child in cloth diapers, and our other child is in the midst of potty training). The handle of the pail is great, in that it "locks" the lid. However, I wouldn't say that just because it does have the "locking lid", that it contains all smell. We usually keep the pail in our children's bathroom, and there have been times, that it has been smelly.I also, did not find the need to buy the liners that go along with the bucket, as we use it (primarily) as a dry bucket.I just rinse it out very well, with a little Borax added in when I wash the diapers.I think the liners may be convenient, but really aren't needed.Overall, a great cloth diaper pail... and although, a bit spendy... I believe it is completely worth it to be able to carry it into the laundry room. It is the perfect size... allowing for more than enough dirty cloth dipes that one would put in there before needing to wash.I would have given it 4 stars, besides the fact, that we have had some minor smell issues, as well as the fact that you are "supposed" to use the liners with it, and in my opinion, this is not necessary, and lastly, it is a bit pricey... as I'm sure you could find a similar bucket that wasn't necessarily for cloth diapers at a much cheaper price. This is a sturdy and easy to use nappy bin. The washing bags make it easy to transfer wet/soiled nappies to the washing machine. The locking mechanism is good for deterring babies/toddlers from getting into the bin; however, it would be fairly easy for a toddler to figure out (although I haven’t had this issue because I keep it in a cupboard). The only downside is that the price is high for what is essentially just a plastic bucket with a lid and two mesh bags. However, it does keep the smell in and comfortably holds 6 AIO nappies, so no complaints about the product itself! The nappy bin is great for keeping the smell at bay. The laundry bag is great for just slinging in the wash from the bucket, the less you have to touch the stickiness, the better. However, if we put the nappies in the wash in the laundry bag, our washing machine finds it hard to spin because all the weight is contained in the bag. If we take the nappies out of the bag, it's fine. It would have been 5 stars if not fo that.In all honesty we don’t use this as much as we thought as dirty cloth nappies/ washable wet wipes go straight in the machine, but it’s good value and functions very effectively. The nets can be a bit tricky to get round the hooks which keeps them in place, but then they do stay there once in! The lockable handle function also helps keep prying hands out, and is sturdy. It’s also easy to clean, and isn’t too intrusive. It’s also very light when empty!Really handy for reusable nappies and makes life much easier. Holds enough nappies for us to wash every other day without them becoming smelly. Lock and handleakes it easy to transport and prevents our baby from getting inside (for now at least). Highly recommended.Bought to help sort lightLy and heavily soiled nappies. Holds 4-5 soiled nappies and small washable wipes. Good value for money as they come as a pack of 2. Have lasted well so far, with several hot washes. Only need to remember to slip in tie/toggle inside bag otherwise it gets wrapped around other items in the wash.
