I hated the mess of bare container washing; and abhorred using plastic bags for compost that would end up in the landfills. These fit perfectly inside dedicated indoor compost collection bins (or check out the 5 liter "better homes and gardens step trash can" to save 35$). At first, I was shocked at how heavy duty these bags are made. I was/am concerned that they are so thick they might slow composting process. Well, after tossing egg shells followed by pineapple husks, I had no worries whatsoever walking across the newly steam cleaned floor. So, they probably could be made lighter (0.50 mil likely perfect) and compost faster BUT for ultimate peace of mind, and I just cannot criticize a product for being "too strongly made" (stupid sounding huh?). It has been too soon to see if any noticeable slowing of compost process occurs, and I will update this review. Maybe offer a "standard weight" for us normal folk and offer these for those cavemen who will punch down watermelon rinds on top of pineapple husks and coconut shells and really push the limits of the bags would be the way to go.
