In the US, you will find lots of different teas labeled Irish breakfast or some similar thing. However most Irish people know that the best teas are either Barry's or Lyons depending on their preference. If you are used to a strong tea, there is no substitute.If you are not used to Irish tea, the best way to brew it is to use a teapot. First you want to heat the teapot with boiling water and then reboil the water in the kettle. Pour out the water from the teapot and put in one bag for two cups of water. Pour the boiling water over the teabag immediately before boiling stops. Give it a quick stir and steep for 4-5 minutes. Some people pour out the first drop into the sink because it may be weaker than the rest. Put milk in the bottom of a teacup and pour the tea over the milk. Add sugar to taste.Easy to order and receive in a short period of time…great tea.The color of this tea is unbeatable. It is such a dark gold when half and half is added - no other black tea I've found is this rich and yummy.High-quality tea at a reasonable price. Barry’s Gold was the highest rated. I decided to give it a try. After about a week of drinking it, I came back to get this “value” bundle. Since purchase, I’ve had more days without coffee than I have in years. I do enjoy coffee, so some days I will have a cup or 2, but I’ve been drinking Barry’s all day everyday. I can’t get enough of this. For flavor and how I feel from drinking it, I give it 5 stars.You will notice that I only gave it 4 stars in my rating. Generally I drink organic teas and would love for this to be. They don’t “claim” to be organic, so I don’t hold them accountable for that. I do however wish there was more information available on the sourcing and pesticides or other chemicals used from the farm to the bag. I personally appreciate more transparency. Please realize I’m not someone that does ALL organic and sticks my nose up at conventional products and their consumers. Tea can be quite deceiving when it comes to being saturated with chemicals. Remember that tea is actual plant matter.I love this tea!My husband and I went on vacation in Ireland a few years back and got totally hooked on this tea. It's a good strong black tea that has a wonderful taste.
